Woodcarving Course with Rick Wiebe

Hi everyone, Some people have asked me about doing another woodcarving course this Fall. Rick is available for most of September so I need to know who is interested. I think we should do another beginner class for whoever is interested and then also do a class that will build on the skills they learned in the Spring course. As with the last class he prefers kids who are 9 years old and up, however we had some eight year olds who did great.

I also need to pin down some dates, so any ideas of when would be best for you would be appreciated. I think the three day class worked well, so it would be three consecutive days for 2 1/2 hours per day at $60 plus GST. He provides everything they need.

Creative Movement:

This class for children aged 3 – 5 will work on coordination, gracefulness and self-esteem through dance. We will play games, explore different styles of dance and different kinds of music and have a lot of fun! The emphasis will be on creativity and supporting the young dancers in discovering and connecting to their own inner expression. The class will culminate in a performance for parents and friends that the students will help choreograph.

Creative Ballet:

This beginning ballet class is about connecting children with the real beauty and art of ballet and encouraging the creativity and talent of the dancers. We will go on a journey deeper into the passion, the discipline, the beauty and the art of ballet. We will use the technique of this dance form to explore self-expression and learn more about dance in general. This class will also culminate in a performance that the students will choreograph.
