V-Learn Open House in May?

I'm not sure where to find the info on the V-Learn website about their open house in May? Do we have to call? Does anybody know? Does the Open House include free classes? Other activities?
How many people are interested in registering (not enrolling) at V-Learn and being able to participate in their classes and activities? I am!
Cheers,
Delia

I couldn't find anything on their website, either. I would be interested in registering with them if it included art classes and the like.

Hi Kathy,
I'm not sure how to get your e-mail from the blogger to send you the article I was telling you about.

What do people do for sports day or fun day? Can we participate with V-learn/school district?

I seem to recall that Silverdale (now they have changed name)in Mission (DL) a few years ago was letting students who were registered with them participate in classes and activities if there was room left over after all the enrolled students had been placed.

I just noticed there was a chess tournament in March on the SD's website. If one was registered with V-Learn, one could enter, correct?

Delia, my email is klmackay@shaw.ca.
Thanks

Yes, you could enter that tournament if you wanted to. Or, you could request that vLearn organize some chess play without the competitive aspect of a tournament.

So if you request an activity like a chess tournament to sharpen skills rather than be competitive VLearn would organize it? i.e. place players with better players to improve skills
Do you know if VLearn gives back any money to registered Home Learners?
I'm trying to decide what classes and activities would be of interest...
What do they offer exactly for activities? The website is not that easy to follow. I see that there are 2 hour sessions on Wednesday.

I think it varies a good deal depending on the time of year, and I know they are open to parent suggestions. Probably a call to them would be best at this point.
As far as I know they've not been supportive of registered homelearners in any way, but I could be wrong, and if I'm right it could be time for that to change ...
