Youth Recreational Hockey

Youth Recreational
Daytime Shinney Hockey
2010/2011

For boys and girls ages 10 and up, this program was designed to allow for a non- contact, stress-free, fun environment for kids (and parents) to come out and enjoy the game they love, all the while developing them as sportsmanlike players, good citizens and team mates. Ice times will include some skating skills training, puck/stick handling (hockey drills) and 45-60 minutes each week of scrimmage (lines will be set up to match skill levels).

The only pre-requisite is that players are able to skate unassisted. All other skills can be gained, so don't let lack of experience hinder you from coming out and having fun in a welcoming and non-judgemental environment.

Location and Dates will be determined by overall consensus of registrants, between the 2 options outlined below:

OPTION #1 - same as last year (yes, during school hours)
Sunwave Centre - Salmon Arm
Thursdays 1:30-2:45 PM
Oct 21 - Mar 17 (16 weeks)
Fees: $85.00/player - Jerseys provided
or

OPTION #2 - which was highly requested by many who would have liked to participate (during ‘after school’ hours)
Enderby Arena - Enderby
Thursdays 3:00-4:15 PM
Oct 21 - Mar 17 (16 weeks)
Fees: $95.00/player - Jerseys provided

This program is newer to the North Okanagan, and will be running this season for its 2nd year.

We have fortunately been able to extend the ice time to an hour and 15 minutes this year, as well as source another option for an ‘after school’ ice time, which was highly requested by many who would have liked to participated.

If you are interested, please fill out information below to receive the Registration Form vi e-mail. Please give us all the information we are requesting ie: your name, e-mail etc., and especially the Time/Arena info. Obviously, some families will prefer one arena option over the other. What we need to know is which venue(s) you are ‘able’ participate in. If you have a preference of one over the other, you may indicate that as well. However, please be sure to note that you can participate at either location if such is the case.

We require a minimum of 25 players to facilitate the program, and will cap it off when full. Registrations will be accepted on a 1st come, first serve basis.

We will contact you by e-mail with the registration details. Or, if you would like to speak to us directly, please call Kellie at 250 833 5466, or Lyle at 250 515 3937
